Import Templates
While I am still working on the Mobile Fonts and Development issue, I wanted to make some progress with Modular Design and theming.
Admittedly, WordPress has been able to do both of these things for years. Honestly, WordPress does a great job with it...I just do not care much for PHP.
With that said, I have purchased several HTML themes and templates from another site but have not finished cutting them down to a size compatible with my personal sites (aside from Teragin Solutions.)
I am starting on a template import tool that aims to allow you to import a working zip of a template and then will allow you to custom edit the content sections as well as turn on and off sections.
In the short run, I think this would be a huge win for other small business, non-profits, religious organizations and even political candidates. Imagine being able to install ResalientCRM (or buying it hosted) and then being able to upload a $20-$200 template (there really are some amazing templates you can buy) and then edit the content directly to match your target audience.
I cannot wait to make some more progress with this, because I know a few small businesses that could use a solution that won't cost them an additional $20k-$100k in custom development. Look for updates.
For now, I am able to import a zip file and modify the relative URIs throughout the solution to load from my database. My next step is to convert each of the content sections into editable areas that can be saved to the database; and then the step past that it to make it easier to use custom page paths...for now, ResalientCRM surfaces the publishing through the Articles section.
