Synchronized Document Sharing
Years ago, I was a volunteer with a county political party. If you know anything about politics, our nation is more divided than it has ever been. While some of the mistrust is well placed (eg, Presidential pardons by either party for crimes no American should ever commit), often times at the local level the mistrust is exacerbated by poorly shared but otherwise innocuous information.
As a solutions architect, my job is to find ways to help organizations bypass as much personality conflict as I can through reliable tools and processes.
In one meeting, a subversive actor nearly derailed a popular resolution by purposefully misrepresenting a slide that was offscreen; and he nearly succeeded, except several of us had paper backups and went around the meeting hall showing people the page in question. While I will not share the man's name, I will say he was part of embezzling money out of the local party through exorbitant no-bid contracts.
With that said, imagine having access to a tool where you can upload a Word (docx) file, have it autogenerate HTML, be accessible to members of your organization, and have the location shared in real-time.
In the image above, the left side represents the presenter with the audience on the right. After the document is uploaded, a code (for now the presenter's IP) is shared for access to the presentation. As the presenter scrolls, connected devices scroll with him along with a matching yellow highlight for shared reference. If the presenter needs to make extra attention, as he clicks on a paragraph it will highlight both his and the audience's copy at the same location in light blue.
Revolutionary? No. Often times the best solution is simple.
Resalient is adding a business governance feature to allow this very thing. (Demo available and free to use for churches, charities and clubs, Contact Us.)
The feature is a work in progress. And I would love to hear how your organization wants to use it.
Thankfully, most business meetings are not as contentious as the example given.
